Job SummaryTo perform diversified duties in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Hybrid OR, assisting the cardiologist intra‑procedurally including preparation and positioning of patients, operation of x‑ray equipment in radiological and fluoroscopic procedures, scrubbing, circulating, monitoring, and recording hemodynamic parameters according to policy. Must successfully complete corporate and department specific skill validations and maintain core competencies.
Core CompetenciesThe CVT will be competent to monitor and scrub diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, intermediate and complex interventional cardiac procedures, STEMI, diagnostic and interventional arteriograms. Responsibilities also include STEMI on‑call team coverage and precepting new or existing employees. The CVT Staff may progress to CVT Intermediate by completing skill validations and maintaining competencies to monitor and scrub 2 of 5 Additional Specialty Areas.
The CVT Staff may progress to CVT Advanced by completing skill validations and maintaining competencies to monitor and scrub 4 of 5 Additional Specialty Areas.

Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab experience preferred. Registry or certification as a Cardiovascular Technologist, or Certificate of completion from approved CVT program. Caro Mont Health may recognize credentials in alternate Allied Health fields for candidates with experience in a Cath Lab or EP Lab setting. RCIS and/or RCES preferred. BLS/ACLS certification required. Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, patients, physicians, ancillary professionals and families for positive results and outcomes.
Applicants with 2 or more years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or EP Lab may be considered for the CVT Intermediate skill level. Applicants with 3 or more years of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or EP Lab may be considered for the CVT Advanced skill level. Applicant must successfully complete the corresponding competency requirements and skill validations within 90 days of hire to maintain the CVT Intermediate or CVT Advanced skill level.
