Job Title: Payroll Accountant (Direct Hire)
Location (City, State): Mooresville, NC
Pay: $33–$35/hour

Job Description:The Payroll Accountant will support both payroll and accounting functions, ensuring accurate payroll processing while contributing to general ledger activities and compliance efforts. This role blends hands-on payroll administration with accounting responsibilities such as reconciliations, accruals, and audit support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a growth-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 130 employees, including salaried and hourly staff
- Record payroll-related journal entries, accruals, and allocations to the general ledger
- Ensure accurate job costing of payroll expenses across projects
- Manage payroll tax reporting and support filings as needed
- Track and reconcile per diem payments, allowances, commissions, and bonuses
- Reconcile employee loan balances and petty cash activity for field personnel
- Assist with new vendor setup and maintenance
- Support workers’ compensation audits, financial audits, and payroll-related inquiries
- Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll data
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all employee compensation records
