We are currently hiring a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician
. The Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician will perform licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and advanced repairs, and extensive diagnostics (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic). This role often serves as the lead on jobsites and on-site consultant for customers and technicians. A successful Sr Mobile Diesel Technician complies with company policies and achieves high performance metrics.

Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, braking, cooling systems, starters/alternators, engine electronics, fuel system components, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and related components.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, steering, transmissions, and related systems; perform road tests to verify repairs.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments (e.g., handheld computers, pressure gauges); identify problems and evaluate alternatives.
- Independently manage parts inventory and operate the company-issued service truck; perform periodic reconciliations.
- Maintain and operate the service truck, conduct safety checks, and perform pre-/post-trip inspections.
- Communicate with clients to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve issues, and meet expectations.
- Manage concurrent tasks, prioritize work activities and time allocations effectively.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks as required.
- Document work according to company standards and upload RO photos, parts used, and findings using an iOS device and TRAIT app; accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation.
- Work independently and manage daily schedule; maintain productivity within standard repair times.
- Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary for repairs.
- Coordinate with management and support teams via email or phone for approvals, PO numbers, and RO findings notes.
- Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related field experience, or an equivalent combination (e.g., degree/certification beyond HS or 5 years of related experience).
- At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
- Own a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
- OEM training and certifications are preferred.
- Participate in all company-required training.
- DOT/FMCSA regulations apply; able to pass pre-employment DOT background screening and DOT physical; current DOT medical card or ability to obtain one (validity rules apply).
- Candidate must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations; valid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File;
Class C license required. - Required Certifications (or obtained within 18 months): ASE T8 (PMI); ASE 608/609. Preferred: ASE T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, L1, L2.
