About the RoleKelly Services is partnering with a leading packaging company in Gary, IN to hire a Production Supervisor
. This is a direct hire, salaried position (not temporary or contract) offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits, including:

This position will be assigned to a brand new third shift (11:00 PM–7:00 AM, Monday–Friday). Initial training will take place on first shift for two to three months before transitioning to third shift
What You’ll DoThe Production Supervisor is a hands-on leader who oversees a team of 15 employees, ensuring safety, quality, and production standards are consistently met. The role is focused on coaching, training, and motivating production teams while driving operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise, with accountability for safety, quality, and production.
- Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and ensure compliance with PPE, GMP, and safety requirements.
- Partner cross-functionally with Safety, Quality, Production, HR, Maintenance, and Shipping/Receiving teams.
- Monitor production performance, review metrics, and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Support employees with training, performance feedback, and corrective actions as required.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalations maintenance needs.
- Maintain shift documentation, including safety audits, HACCP paperwork, SIMS board updates, and shift summaries.
- Ensure smooth handoffs with incoming supervisors and continuity of operations.
- Participate in monthly training sessions focused on quality, safety, and professional development.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience
. - At least 5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (corrugated packaging experience preferred).
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced production setting.
- Strong communication (oral & written) and conflict management skills.
- Ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and make resourceful decisions.
- Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Comfortable working hands-on on the production floor.
- Must provide and wear steel-toed shoes or boots (provided by client).
