FISCAL AFFAIRS (NW-FAFF-IUNWA)
The IU Northwest Human Resources Department is seeking a qualified, detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to provide part-time administrative and operational support to the Regional Human Resources team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient delivery of HR services and in supporting a positive employee experience across the region. The Human Resources Coordinator will support a variety of HR functions by providing administrative assistance, coordinating departmental processes, and ensuring accurate and timely completion of HR transactions.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while working in a dynamic higher-education environment.
- Provides administrative support to the Regional HR team, including preparing documents, correspondence, and processing transactions.
- Assists with planning and coordination of HR-sponsored events, meetings, and trainings.
- Manages calendaring functions, including scheduling appointments, meetings, and regional HR activities.
- Supports the onboarding process by assisting with new hire orientations and preparing associated materials.
- Processes and maintains I-9 documentation in accordance with federal regulations and institutional policies.
- Coordinates travel arrangements for HR team members and support travel reconciliation.
- Prepares and disseminates departmental communications as directed.
- Generates and compiles ad hoc reports to support HR operations and decision-making.
- Required — Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Preferred — Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Preferred — Experience working in a human resources environment, preferably within higher education
- Demonstrates administrative experience in a professional office environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in standard office software and systems (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, calendar management tools)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in document preparation and data entry
- Ability to maintain a high standard of confidentiality with discretion
- Customer service oriented approach and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals and teams
- Preferred — Familiarity with HRIS systems and electronic I-9 processing
- Preferred — Experience supporting event coordination and/or onboarding processes
- Preferred — Knowledge of basic HR practices, federal employment regulations, and institutional policies
