- Develop instructional objectives for each lesson concerning what students need and should learn and relate them to the courses within the Exercise Science Program of study (NLPS).
- Correlate learning activities with instructional objectives and with the maturity and academic level of the students.
- Establish and maintain parent‑teacher communications when necessary through conferences, phone calls, and digital resources.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere conducive to each student’s emotional and behavioral development; one in which the students can develop a sense of worth and dignity.
- Implement all corporation policies as they relate to the classroom.
- Direct and supervise the conduct of all students in the classroom.
- Requisition all prescribed instructional materials and supplies necessary to complete the academic year.
- Assess student performance, maintain performance record‑keeping, and make appropriate instructional decisions based on student performance.
- Establish and Maintain a CTE Program Advisory Committee.
- Establish and coordinate Work‑Based Learning opportunities when necessary.
- All other duties as assigned by the building Principal and the Director of CTE.
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
- Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Communicate electronically with students, parents and other staff members concerning student academic progress, attendance and behavior.
- Exercise open and respectful communication with families, co‑workers, supervisors and other school staff.
Assigned students and paraprofessionals.

Knowledge of- Planning a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Exercise Science, human movement, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy and related topics.
- Using a computer and related software applications.
- Using modern office equipment.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups being taught.
- Advocate for Career and Technical Education.
- Desire to help guide students to make viable, realistic career decisions.
Bachelor’s degree (minimum).
CertificationCertificate, teaching license for area in which applying to teach, or other legal credential required.
