General Maintenance Worker 2nd Shift

Duties:

Responsibilities include maintenance, including light equipment, conveyor systems, and general facility maintenance such as greasing bearings and changing belts. Functions include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work.

• Identify and troubleshoot all conveyor systems and various metal processing equipment.
• Perform routine and technical maintenance and repairs on conveyor and metal processing equipment.
• Perform maintenance during unscheduled system downtime on conveyor systems and various metal processing equipment.
• Organize and/or clean the yard as needed.
• Work with all safety guidelines and requirements, and lead training of safety standards to personnel.
• Other routine tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned by shredder manager/supervisor.

Some experience in similar scrap handling work or manufacturing operations is desired. Hands‑on experience with the operation and maintenance of shredders and material handling equipment (e.g., cranes, loaders) is a plus.

Must be able to communicate and work well with coworkers/supervisors to assure the completion of mechanical and maintenance repairs expeditiously and cost‑effectively to avoid work stoppages while maintaining safety. Should have a good understanding of equipment operation and be able to determine problems and make decisions to solve them.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed. Walk and be outside 8–10 hours per day.

8+ hour shift, 2nd shift (4 pm–2 am)
