Location Garner NC

Overview

Responsible for implementing and leading Continuous improvement initiatives that help drive development and growth through "out of the box" engineering and maintenance solutions. Also responsible for capital investments and expense management plans regarding installations/repairs of production and facility equipment. Plans manufacturing, material handling and facility equipment layout, workflow and accident prevention measures to maintain efficient and safe utilization of plant facilities.

Identifies opportunities to implement process changes to improve yields, reduce costs, improve runtime, reduce downtime, and improve quality for all products.

Responsibilities
  • Sets the direction of the engineering group to achieve machine stability and continuous improvement.
  • Employs principles of effective technical/engineering management to include: problem recognition, root cause analysis, and TPM.
  • Demonstrates a strong presence on the plant floor by setting, communicating, and evaluating standards and serving as a resource to all employees.
  • Implements continuous improvement initiatives that integrate the philosophy / methodology of continuous improvement into the company culture.
  • Leads continuous improvement projects to achieve business objectives.
  • Participates and / or leads strategic projects charted from the leadership team.
  • Serves as a mentor / coach to teams and project leaders, supporting success of assigned continuous improvement efforts within the business and functional areas.
  • Transfers CI methodologies / skill sets, up, down, and across the organization and promotes the concepts whenever possible
  • Analyze and recommend changes in technology to better position the business.
  • Responsible for execution of assigned continuous improvement projects and overall delivery of metric improvement and benefits for the business, resulting in the achievement of strategic business objectives and goals; also responsible for identifying projects that may lead to better processes, quality and savings.
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture, skill sets and tools to enhance quality and operational excellence
Qualifications
  • BS Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering - required
  • 5+ years of relative manufacturing and project engineering experience
  • Strong Project Management Skills, knowledge and experience in implementing TPM
  • Demonstrated technical support of multiple projects with multiple teams concurrently
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of employees in a multi-tasking environment
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting and problem solving solutions through the use of problem solving discipline(s)
  • Demonstrated electrical & mechanical aptitude with hands on experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Lean and Six Sigma tools experience desirable
  • Ability to lead and influence without having direct authority
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for dealing with all levels of staff, customers, suppliers, and operations
  • Principals of engineering design (CAD, blueprint reading)
  • Robotics

  • Problem identification and resolution
  • Project management with a understanding of the manufacturing process

Bottom line requirements we need notes on with candidate submittal:

  • 1. BS Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2. 5+ years of manufacturing and project engineering experience.
  • 3. Strong Project Management Skills and experience in implementing TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
  • 4. Demonstrate troubleshooting and problem solving solutions through the use of problem solving discipline(s)
  • 5. Experience with Robotics and PLC controls.
  • 6. Lean Manufacturing experience is desirable.
