Required: ET&D or Civil Safety: 5-10 years
Key Duties:
- Advise on provisions to minimize safety risks
- Conduct safety inspections, observations, investigations and regulatory compliance for OSHA and DOT
- Communicate, coach and train crews on the current HSE work practices and rules, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare reports for management team reviews on observations pertaining to work activities, investigations, employee injuries/property/utility damage incidents.
- Keep detailed records of safety-related incidents and propose corrective actions
- Maintain Safety databases up to date with current information as clients require, including ISnet, Veriforce, and Avatta.
- Complete any safety pre-qualifications required by potential clients
- Communicate daily with Gridtech senior personnel and superintendents on safety needs/requirements
- Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues
- Intervene in unsafe activities or operations
- Liaise with and report to PGS Safety Director on OSH matters
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Proven experience as a safety specialist in the power construction industry
- In-depth knowledge of OSH guidelines and practices
- Experience in reporting and developing policies
- OSHA 30 Training
- CUSP certification, or must be able to attain within 6 months of hire date
- Experience in implementing OSH training programs
- Proficient in MS Office
- Excellent communication and advisory skills
- Diligent with an analytical mind
- BSc/BA in business administration, Safety or relevant field
- MVR qualifies individual to be an approved company driver
Working Conditions:
- Office/Field 50% travel may be required
