The Bridge Foreman will oversee the day to day operations of assigned tasks/project, and perform supervisory duties of assigned crew(s). This position reports to the Bridge/Structures Superintendent, and receives their instructions accordingly.

Education- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.
- A minimum of Five (5) years or more of industry related experience is required for this position, with an emphasis on bridges.
- Responsible for the completion of various assigned bridge and/or structure projects/components, under the supervision and leadership of the Bridge Superintendent.
- Direct supervision of assigned work crew(s), typically consisting of 5-8 team members.
- Prepare and communicate work plans, according to assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Communicate and Direct work crew members, in the processes and procedures of completing assigned tasks, in the construction of various bridge and other structures.
- Observe work crew's safety performance, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures; address any deficiencies, accordingly.
- Complete daily reporting, via computer and/or written logs; including time entry, equipment utilization, schedules, etc.
- Inspect and address, any site/project conditions, affecting work tasks.
- Identifies equipment, tools and materials, needed to complete assigned tasks/project(s); communicates needs accordingly.
- Recognize workplace hazards, affecting safety of assigned crew, and address accordingly.
- Attends project progress, safety and other various meetings; communicates applicable information to assigned crew members.
- Facilitates daily safety meetings, with assigned crew members; completes written documentation.
- Construction of various Bridge Structure Components
- Pile Driving Operations
- Construction of Formwork, including prefabricated systems
- Girder Setting, steel erection and Rebar framework construction and installation
- Pouring and finishing of Concrete
- Loading and Unloading of various materials and/or equipment
- Checking and Marking Project Layout, including grade stakes and survey markings
- Confined Space entry
- Operation a man-lift
- Safe Utilization of various Rigging components, used in Bridge and Structure construction.
- Supervision of Crane operations
- Other duties, as assigned
- Frequently articulate various communications clearly and effectively, including both written and spoken, with others;
May require hand gestures, spoken words, computer data entering and/or hand writing. - Constant ability to hear, including potential alerting systems, such as back up alarms, horns, as well as verbal spoken communications.
- Constant ability to see and recognize surrounding work environment and respond accordingly.
- Frequent standing, is required during a regular work shift, typically consisting of at least eight hours per day.
- Infrequent ability to stoop, bend, and crouch.
- Work may be performed at heights up to 60 feet, requiring the employee to climb provided ladders, scaffolds and/or stair towers.
- Potential to work with hands extended overhead, sometimes in conjunction with the operation of hand power tools.
- Manual dexterity to hand-carry portable hand tools, lumber and other construction materials.
- Infrequent need to lift and carry various materials and/or tools, up to 50 pounds, and co-lift and carry potentially up to 150 pounds with assistance by equipment and/or co-worker(s).
- Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
- Capable of being certified to enter confined spaces, including accessing excavations up to 15 feet in depth, using provided access routes, as required.
- Sufficient skill and visual acuity, under varying degrees of light, darkness, and weather conditions, to provide direction and flagging for operators of cranes and other equipment/operations.
- Capable of safely and productively operating a man-lift.
- Ability to maintain balance while walking and/or working on uneven work surfaces.
