Commodities Service Technician (CST) / Administrative Specialist
Location: Garner, NC (on-site)
Schedule: Full-time | Irregular hours may be required
We're seeking a hands‑on Commodities Service Technician / Administrative Specialist with a strong automotive parts or fleet inventory background to support a busy Fleet Services operation. This role sits at the intersection of parts management, inventory control, and administrative support, ensuring technicians have the right materials at the right time while maintaining accurate systems and records.
In this role, you'll manage automotive parts inventory across multiple storerooms, including stocking, cycle counts, min/max evaluations, warranty returns, and special orders. You'll work closely with vendors and internal teams to resolve shortages, track obsolete inventory, and support preventative maintenance and storm response readiness. You'll also use tools like Maximo, Power BI, and Excel to monitor inventory accuracy, purchase orders, invoicing, and asset data.
On the administrative side, you'll support garage operations by processing invoices and expense reports, managing technician timesheets, updating work orders and asset records, coordinating licensing and inspections, and assisting supervisors with scheduling, onboarding, and day‑to‑day operational needs.
The ideal candidate has:
- 3+ years of automotive parts, fleet, or inventory management experience
- Comfort working in a warehouse/garage environment (lifting up to 50 lbs; forklift use)
- Strong attention to detail and comfort with data, reporting, and systems
- Experience with inventory or service management systems (Maximo a plus)
- Solid Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- A valid driver's license and ability to work independently across multiple priorities
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being detail‑oriented, organized, and operationally critical, while staying closely connected to hands‑on fleet and automotive work.
