Job Summary:
Perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance work on our converting, printing, and extruding equipment and various other ancillary equipment, as well as general repairs to building and grounds. Emphasis on strong analytical skills and the ability to source other/outside resources to resolve issues, troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic and mechanical problems; repairing and replacing faulty components or parts, installing new machines and equipment, performing Preventive Maintenance on equipment, and maintaining parts and supplies inventories.

- Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic systems and control circuits.
- Ability to solve mechanical problems; repair and replace faulty components or parts, install new machines and equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and maintain inventories.
- Perform reactionary maintenance (i.e., repair machines and equipment when required as they go down).
- Perform preventive maintenance and related tasks for equipment, building and grounds.
- Plan and carry out tasks for special projects on existing or new equipment or facilities.
- Assume responsibility for managing assigned projects.
- Source products and materials and obtain pricing for maintenance purchases.
- Maintain parts inventories relative to own needs and replenish as necessary.
- Perform most types of tool & die and fixture jobs.
- Proactively collaborate across departments and work well within a small team.
- Encourage teamwork with all department and facility members.
- Communicate effectively with department and facility members.
- Accept training readily and quickly understand new concepts.
- Provide training to fellow department members when appropriate.
- Perform tasks with limited supervision and provide guidance to others as needed.
- Demonstrate the ability to work on a team to achieve departmental results.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- High School diploma, or GED equivalent; prior experience in a machine repair and maintenance department, or technically oriented position desired.
- Welding/Fabricating
- Machining, Lathes, and Mills
- Understanding of machine control systems and electrical schematics
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
- Use Office software and enter work orders in our CMMS software.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
- Standing, walking, climbing and balancing over two-thirds of work time. Stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling under one-third of work time.
Work Environment
- Fumes or airborne particles, working near moving mechanical parts two-thirds of work time.
