As the 2nd Shift Production Manager
, you will lead a team of 20–40 employees in a fast-paced stainless steel fabrication and assembly plant. You are responsible for the daily management of production volume, quality, and safety across multiple departments.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who understands continuous improvement and is dedicated to seamless shift transitions.
Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 3:00 PM – 2:00 AM (Enjoy a 3-day weekend!)
Compensation: $85-100k
Location: Garland, TX
Key Responsibilities- Operational Leadership: Supervise all shop floor manufacturing operations, including Sheet Metal, Welding, Polishing, Assembly, Refrigeration, and Electrical departments.
- Performance Management: Track and manage KPIs related to production volume, quality control, manufacturing costs, and safety metrics.
- Shift Coordination: Maintain proactive, detailed communication with the 1st Shift Manager and Director of Manufacturing to ensure operational continuity.
- Team Development: Train, evaluate, and discipline shop personnel; collaborate with leadership to resolve employee concerns and foster a professional culture.
- Inventory & Logistics: Manage material shortages, maintain raw material inventory levels, and ensure all production paperwork is accurate and submitted on time.
- Maintenance & Improvement: Address facility and equipment issues immediately; lead department-wide continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives.
- Technical Oversight: Read blueprints/sketches to determine fabrication sequences and communicate required engineering changes or corrections to the Director of Manufacturing.
- Leadership: 5+ years of experience supervising 20–40 employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Expertise: Extensive hands‑on experience in sheet metal fabrication and assembly is essential
. - Material Knowledge: Solid understanding of material gauges and types (Stainless Steel, Galvanized, Aluminum, etc.).
- Machinery Proficiency: Complete understanding of CNC machines, including lasers, brake presses, tubing cutters, specialty saws, and routers.
- Analytical
Skills:
Ability to interpret complex blueprints and troubleshoot part inconsistencies using precision measuring tools. - Tech Savvy: Proficient in MRP systems, Microsoft Excel, and Google Docs.
- Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a significant plus.
