OverviewJoin our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Lathe Machinist / Setup specialist, where your expertise will drive precision and efficiency in producing high-quality components. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC lathes to meet exact specifications, ensuring smooth production flow and optimal machine performance. Your mechanical knowledge and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship and safety.

- Set up and operate CNC lathe machines, including programming using CNC programming languages and CAM software.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and specifications to produce precise parts.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions and quality.
- Adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters to optimize machining processes for plastics injection molding, metal components, or other materials.
- Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), CNC milling machines, or Fanuc controls.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Maintain detailed documentation of setups, inspections, and production logs to ensure traceability and compliance with safety standards.
- Proven experience operating CNC lathe machines with a solid understanding of CNC programming languages such as G-code.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical principles related to machining processes.
- Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like Solid Works or general CAD tools for interpreting design files.
- Ability to use precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, power tools, hand tools, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feeds, speeds, and material properties.
- Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CNC milling machines (Fanuc controls preferred), welding, assembly processes, and tooling setup is a plus.
- Knowledge of plastics injection molding processes and the use of power tools for secondary operations is advantageous.
- Ability to work safely with forklift operation when necessary and adhere to lean manufacturing practices.
