Perform all required and assigned assembly operations on drilling rigs and equipment following standard(s) and within company safety guidelines.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Install and connect hydraulic controls, pumps, rams, and other system elements
- Mount, hook-up and connect engines, gear boxes, axles and other power components and units
- Assemble mounted hydraulic products which includes the installation and tightening of common bolts and hydraulic hose per process sheets
- Maintain the cleanliness of the assembly area
- Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to immediate Supervisor
- Follow prescribed safety regulations / guidelines
- Maintain work related records and reports
- Perform other duties as required or directed
- Train new hires
- Complete appropriate paperwork for rejected parts
- Return to Stock (RTS) non-required parts to the Warehouse
- Required to read, write and comprehend English
- Use and comprehend specifications, blueprints, and schematics
- Knowledge of all mechanical components on the rig and their ideal operation
- Overall knowledge of product line
- Basic understanding of troubleshooting principles
- Knowledge of MFG Pro preferred
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Two years minimum as an assembler (preferred)
- Must have training in reading blueprints
- Six months to a year
- Moderate physical demand in handling materials and tools while performing welding, assembly and related operations.
- May be required to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Work also involves climbing or working at elevated heights using ladders, scissor and snorkel lifts
- Some exposure to dirt, oil, and other shop elements
- Incorrect assembly can also result in a large loss amount requiring rework and other actions
- Responsible for providing the next operation with a defect free unit.
