Jonathan's Place is accepting applications for a weekend day/evening shift Direct Care Specialist for the RESET (Restoring and Educating Survivors to Empowerment and Transformation) Emergency Shelter. The role covers Fridays and Saturdays 9 p.m.–9 a.m. and Sundays 9 p.m.–8 a.m.

Direct Care Specialists will be responsible for daily care and supervision of survivors of commercial sexual exploitation. They will ensure resident safety through close supervision and frequent interaction, facilitate crisis intervention, and promote peaceful resolutions of client disputes.

• Engage in a trauma‑informed model of programming to provide physical and emotional safety for residents.
• Supervise residents in activities to observe and promote positive social behavior.
• Model and teach life skills to help clients develop interpersonal relationships.
• Observe methods/techniques of clinical staff and participate in treatment of residents, including limit‑setting and implementing treatment plans; also co‑facilitate and involve in clinical groups.
• Administer psychotropic medication and/or other prescribed medications.
• Monitor completion of daily hygiene routines/chores.
• Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with children who have experienced trauma.
• Prior experience working with survivors of commercial sexual exploitation is preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and behavior management.
