Condition Based Maintenance Technician
Location:
Garland Plant, Kraft Heinz.
Shift available: 1st, Monday‑Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Hourly Wage: $38.49 per hour.
DescriptionUnder the direction of Maintenance leadership, this position organizes and executes all aspects of the plant’s Predictive Maintenance (PdM) program using various predictive technologies. The role also supports corrective actions during Condition‑Based Maintenance (CBM) reviews and data collection.
Job Responsibilities- Analyze data collected from CBM routes; handle UE, IR and vibration data analysis, and root‑cause failure analysis (RCFA).
- Develop and maintain the CBM program under maintenance leadership and third‑party resources.
- Manage PdM equipment, ensuring safe usage, storage, and documentation.
- Create and update PdM routes and train others in predictive technologies.
- Assist with addressing discovered issues during CBM routes and equipment inspections (enter notifications into SAP, notify coordinators, or address in the field).
- Provide support at other facilities when required, including travel for training or short‑term service missions.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors, and third‑party partners.
- Serve as a leader or participant on assigned teams and support team decisions.
- Comply with QRMP, safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Carry a Kraft‑issued radio onsite at all times and respond to emergency calls.
- Provide coverage for peers on vacation, training, sick leave, or meetings.
- Coordinate vacation with maintenance leadership and communicate via e‑mail with appropriate notice.
- Support initiatives generated within the business unit.
- Follow call‑in procedures detailed in the handbook and perform all work in accordance with Kraft, OSHA, NEC, and GMP standards.
- Utilize the SAP system to document maintenance activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Management.
- Vibration
- Analyze vibration data.
- Perform vibration route data collection on critical equipment.
- Manage vibration software database, analysis parameter settings, and alarms.
- Ultrasonic (UE)
- Monitor rotational equipment components and lubrication.
- Detect compressed‑gas and steam leaks.
- Report recommended repairs.
- Infrared (IR)
- Perform mechanical and electrical IR preventive maintenance.
- Become Arc‑Flash trained.
- Analyze IR data and produce reports.
- Motor Circuit Analysis (MCA)
- Perform offline quality acceptance testing on new motors.
- Conduct online and offline testing on critical motors in operation.
- Analyze data and report recommended repairs.
- Machinery Lubrication Analysis
- Process lubricant samples.
- Analyze sample data.
- Provide reporting and recommendations.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical equipment, components, and parts with a background in industrial, mechanical, and electrical processes.
- Understanding of Ohm’s law and electrical circuit principles (DC, AC, three‑phase).
- Knowledge of three‑phase induction motor theory, servo motors, and basic DC motor theory.
- Safe use of tools and electrical measuring instruments: multimeters, current probes, megohm meters.
- Must achieve Level I certification for Vibration, Oil Analysis, and Infrared technologies within one year.
- Minimum of two years mechanical/electrical background in an industrial setting.
- Strong keyboarding and computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Analytical problem‑solving, effective communication, leadership, and planning abilities.
- Excellent administrative, organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Written and oral communication skills to convey ideas clearly and concisely.
- Willingness to upgrade skills in areas where they are marginal.
- Knowledge of or willingness to train in maintenance systems and new predictive technologies.
- Physical ability to bend, squat, kneel, lift, and manipulate items up to 50 pounds.
- Primarily indoors in hot, humid production or cooler environments.
