Transportation Engineer 1 (TE1), Capital Programs, Cuyahoga County - PN

Transportation Engineer 1 hire will complete ODOT’s Transportation Civil Engineering Program to include a 12‑month training plan and scheduled rotation through the department’s core engineering disciplines:
Planning & Engineering, Construction, and Highway Maintenance.

  • You will work alongside ODOT professional engineers.
  • You will receive hands‑on transportation training and experience needed to further your career as an engineer with ODOT.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering;
Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.

This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.

All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one (1) year probationary period.

Position will be filled pursuant to the provision of the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. An individual assessment of an applicant's prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
