Building Substitute

We are a public dropout prevention high school in the Garfield Heights area serving students aged 14-21.

This is a full-time on-site role for a Permanent Building Substitute at North Shore High School in Garfield Heights, OH. The Permanent Building Substitute will be responsible for providing classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher. Responsibilities include implementing lesson plans, maintaining a positive classroom environment, managing student behavior, and ensuring continuity of learning. Additional responsibilities may involve assisting in various school activities and supporting academic programs as needed.

• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
• Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt teaching strategies to meet students' diverse learning needs
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Flexibility and adaptability in different classroom settings
• Knowledge of educational best practices and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment
• A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Valid teaching certification or substitute teaching license, as required by the state of Ohio
• Experience working in an educational or school setting is preferred
