Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Implements appropriate registration/scheduling procedures to ensure that the inpatient and outpatient accounts receivable records are maintained in accordance with current procedures
  • Submits all required reports internally and externally
  • Reviews corporation’s registration procedures and policies as needed and implements necessary changes
  • Supports the use of staff driven Key Performance Indicators to ensure staff have input in optimizing their daily workflows
  • Implements KPI’s in Patient Access
  • Works with CFO to coordinate and manage Kaizen Events for all areas of Revenue Cycle
  • Working with Revenue Cycle Sub-Committee’s, ensures Revenue Cycle major routine process are performed in accordance with best practice standards
  • Makes effective and efficient use of technology to increase productivity
  • Makes cost effective use of outside agencies and services when appropriate
  • Ensures that registration and scheduling procedures are performed to maximize patient access and experience

  • Evaluates, implements and supports the provision of patient access procedures to improve patient experience
  • Partner with CFO to lead Revenue Cycle Committee
  • Ensures revenue cycle goals are met consistent with Revenue Cycle Charter
  • Chair’s Revenue Cycle and Denials Committee as directed by CFO
  • Maintains the Meditech System in response to changes in insurance requirements, scheduling and admissions policies and procedures and computer system changes
  • Maintains admitting system on computer including implementing upgrades
  • Works with other departments in coordinating changes and improvements in the system
  • Maintains compliance of the Admitting System with internal and external requirements
  • Maintains knowledge of required changes in Admitting policies and procedures in order to maintain compliance with legally mandated changes

  • Provides coaching and education for staff so that they can meet/exceed performance expectations
  • Designs and implements individual and group plans which develop and motivate employees
  • Ensures that employee skills match job requirements
  • Completes all employee performance evaluations by evaluation due dates
  • Conducts audits on staff performance on following registration and scheduling procedures on a regular basis
  • Oversees daily operations to meet vision of providing service to the community
  • Improves patient and/or customer satisfaction
  • Responds to customer requests and concerns in a timely and effective manner
  • Meets/exceeds customer expectations so that the customers select and recommend Heywood Hospital as their primary source of healthcare
  • Utilizes customer satisfaction data to develop and anticipate customer service systems
  • Staffing patterns and work flow design match customer requirements
  • Effectively schedules patients by using both facilities
  • Manages resources to ensure adequate resources and future growth
  • Justifies budget variances and reduces costs and/or increases revenues
  • Collaborates/coordinates projects/activities with other departments, teams, and task forces to build a team approach to healthcare delivery
  • Participates and leads on task forces, PI teams, committees, etc
