- Interact with donors to accept and process donations at trailer sites in an outdoor setting; provide outstanding service to all donors
- Receive newly donated items from our Donations team
- Help us be green and sustainable, sort and ship recyclable items
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in the heat, the cold and in wet weather conditions
- Unload trailers in a safe and efficient manner

Position Title: Shipping/Receiving Team Lead
Reports To: Shipping/Receiving Supervisor
Department: Shipping/Receiving
FLSA Status: Nonexempt
Position Purpose and Objectives
The Shipping/Receiving Team Lead is responsible for managing the flow of all inbound and outbound shipments and maintaining the efficient operation of the dock and storage areas. This hands-on role provides leadership to the shipping/receiving team, ensures timely and accurate processing of freight and donations, coordinates transportation and inventory movement, and upholds safety and cleanliness standards. The Team Lead plays a key role in supporting daily operations while developing the skills to train, coach, and supervise team members in alignment with our Core Values and Mission.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead all daily shipping and receiving activities, including unloading, staging, weighing, and documenting shipments.
- Supervise dock team members by providing training, scheduling, and performance support.
- Ensure the safe, efficient handling of all freight, donations, and merchandise.
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipment contents, complete required paperwork, and report any discrepancies or damage.
- Organize inbound and outbound product, including soft goods, miscellaneous items, and books, following FIFO (First In, First Out) guidelines.
- Monitor dock inventory levels, track backstock movement, and report delays or operational issues.
- Collaborate with processing and retail teams to ensure timely flow of carts and supplies.
- Safely operate and oversee the use of equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, and forklifts.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all shipping and receiving areas.
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance standards.
- Serve as the main point of contact for vendors, transportation partners, and internal departments regarding dock operations.
