Description

The Service Tech/Installer reports to the Operations Manager and Production Manager. This multi‑role job requires the technician to travel and work alone or with a team, performing both service calls and installations. The technician must be highly trained, exhibit good attendance, workmanship, communication skills, and follow company standards. The role demands proficiency with hand tools, a welder, saws, and a hammer drill, and training in trade techniques required to install and service the GEM System—including jar testing, pump seal replacement, pump power leg evaluation, programming PH controllers, level controllers, and timers.

Knowledge of all CWT provided equipment associated with a GEM system and its sequence of operation is required. Ability to lift 75 lbs and work in confined spaces is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain skill levels and proficiency in hand/power tools and trade installation techniques to company standards.
  • Develop skills in all CWT provided equipment such as pH systems, motor controls, and GEM electronics.
  • Perform jar testing required for set starting system.
  • Maintain good working relationships with clients and contractors.
  • Develop service options (preventative maintenance) for clients and CWT.
  • Work in the shop or in the field as required depending on workloads.
  • Assist the shop staff when not in the field.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Complete all installation and repairs to code and company standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine solutions.
  • Exercise organizational skills.
  • Maintain a well‑stocked and organized work vehicle.
  • Stay organized, maintain a clean truck and appropriate grooming.
  • Accurately complete all documents, including inventory, photos, and authorization forms.
  • Keep time sheets complete and accurate to company standards.
  • Maintain a spending report on company standards.
  • Keep a complete and accurate inventory of all parts pulled or used daily.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
  • Cross‑help team members within all departments.
  • Ensure job sites are completed before departure.
Duties
  • Continue education on installation and service techniques.
  • Maintain a professional image.
  • Leave the job site cleaner than when you arrived.
  • Ensure job sites are organized, professional, and safe.
  • Review job with the customer prior to starting for approval.
  • Work in the shop when no service calls or installations are scheduled.
  • Be on call for immediate deployment to a job site.
  • Maintain all tools and parts inventory.
  • Service/maintain toolboxes.
  • Troubleshoot all electrical and mechanical problems of a GEM system and accessories.
  • Track mileage for trips.
  • Understand and apply company policies, procedures, and guidelines for inventory control.
  • Aid and assist all departments as needed.
  • Contact the supervisor if a job site is incomplete before leaving.
Measure of Performance
  • Work as a team in the field.
  • Consistently improve skill level and performance.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations with no complaints.
  • Build a self‑sustained PM program.
  • Ensure inventory is correctly checked and consistent with check‑out sheets.
  • Work well as a member of the fabrication/assembly crew in shop.
