Job Overview
Manager in Training (MIT) – store management role MIT position prepares you for a Retail Store Manager role through leadership training, customer service excellence, and operational expertise. Within 8‑12 weeks you may progress into management based on performance and prior experience.
Responsibilities- Lead development – live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and cultivate a high‑performing, engaged store team.
- Communication excellence – maintain clear, effective communication with employees and customers to drive store execution and performance.
- Metrics mind – learn to manage, analyze, and reconcile monthly P&L statements to optimize store profitability.
- Structure & process orientation – support store operations, ensure compliance with policies, and uphold structured training processes.
- Teamwork & training – assist with staffing, mentoring, and training employees to develop a strong, successful team.
- Customer service leadership – take charge of customer service activities, ensuring outstanding experiences and resolving concerns proactively.
- Inventory & sales management – oversee inventory accuracy, store merchandising, and sales strategies to maximize success.
- Operations training – complete management skills training, learning key aspects of store operations and Auto Zone culture.
- Minimum 1‑2 years of prior experience as a retail manager or supervisor.
- Full‑time flexible schedule availability, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Exceptional communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Previous automotive retail experience or analysis of company financials (e.g., P&L statements) is a plus.
