Job Description:
The position of Specialist - Manufacturing Engineering, reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, under limited supervision, is an experienced professional with proficient knowledge of magnetics manufacturing, lean manufacturing engineering principles, project management, and technical engineering capabilities to support the Operations team(s) to manufacture and assemble existing and future products.
Essential Functions:
* Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency.
* Develop and maintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions.
* Utilize statistical process controls to analyze trends and implement corrective actions to manufacturing processes and/or engineering designs.
* Collaborate closely with design engineering, quality, and production teams to make recommendations for manufacturability to ensure products are manufactured to the highest standards.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
* Continuously analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement across scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Procurement, Production, Contracts, Planning, Program Management, and Engineering to ensure the Operational plan aligns with all aspects of the business.
* Provide technical support and guidance to the production team, troubleshooting manufacturing issues and implementing effective solutions.
* Train production staff on manufacturing best practices and process improvements.
* Conduct cost-benefit analysis and prepare cost estimates for improvements relating to risks and opportunities.
* Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
* Travel on occasion to the Anaheim location and suppliers - 25%
* Training will be held at the Anaheim location
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree with minimum 4 years of prior related experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, Graduate Degree and minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
* Strong understanding and experience of the processes and procedures required to manufacture and assemble cables/harnesses, magnetics, electro/mechanical sub-assemblies, and systems.
* Familiarity and relevant experience operating in MRP and ERP systems
* Familiarity with product lifecycle management applications, such as Agile, and their integration with MRP systems
* Several years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment with a proven track record of process improvement and project management.
* Experience with change management processes and the ability to adapt and manage system changes effectively.
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma, 8D Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
* Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools. Preferred Additional
Skills:
* Programming and data analytics skills (C++, VBA, Python, Power
BI, SQL, etc.)
* Certification in MRP/ERP systems, such as SAP, Costpoint, or Oracle EBS
* Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity
* Certification in Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, or similar. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $84,000- $156,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
