CGP: Staff Accountant

Century Group is excited to bring this great opportunity with a consumer products company who is searching for a strong Staff Accountant to join their team. This position will provide accounting and analytical support to the Finance Manager. Prepare general journal entries, schedules and provided analysis in support of month close, quarterly reviews, and annual audits. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $31 to $40 per hour.

Job Description:

• Process weekly Payroll using ADP Workforce now.
• Track and apply PTO and PSL per company policy and legal regulations.
• Record invoices and other accounting transactions into the accounting system
• Prepare Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation such as prepaids and accruals
• Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records.
• Reconcile multiple bank accounts.
• Prepare general journal entries and provide accounting and analytical support to management during the month-end close process.
• Reconcile A/P against vendor statements monthly.
• Prepare check run.
• Prepare schedules and analysis to support timely reporting and annual audits.
• Assist in month-end closing for each accounting cycle.
• Prepare Financial Statements using accounting software.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accounting principles as well as company policies and procedures.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns, 8027s, 571

Requirements:

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
• Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
• Willingness and ability to learn and work with new systems
• Able to work extra hours during month end close and as needed

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
• 2-4 years of accounting experience
• Experience with systems related to the restaurant industry such as - Restaurant 365
• Experience with accrual accounting for multiple outlets/cost centers
