Accounting Officer

Job Description Position Overview

The Accounting Officer works under the supervision of Controller and performs some of the following duties assigned by Controller.

• Responsible for preparing & posting journal entries including callback
• Responsible for GL suspense correction daily and follow up on any suspense items
• Review & Prepare daily CD Maturity & Renewal report
• Review Unposted GL, Application Exception report & GL Balancing report
• Performs daily and monthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts
• Prepares monthly general ledger journal entries and assists with the closing of month-end
• Perform monthly statement reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries for SBA Loan Sales, SBA Deferred Fee & Cost
• Coordinate interest wire preparation & renew notice to branch for State CDs
• Provide direct accounting assistance to Controller
• Complies fully with all Bank policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Anti‑Money Laundering, Code of Conduct, and etc.). Must complete all required training.

• Must be detail oriented
• Strong PC skills, ability to work with large spreadsheets and analyze data
• Strong communication and customer service skills-can comfortably interact with vendors, customers and employees at all levels of the organization
• Success in multitasking in a fast‑paced environment and in task ownership
• Bilingual in Korean/English preferred

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four‑year college or university
• Minimum one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
