Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LDRP position requiring a KS or compact RN license, with night shifts and floating among L&D, postpartum, and mother/baby units.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital-based LDRP unit with 12 LDRP rooms, 1 OR suite for C-sections, and 1 triage bed
- Care for laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients with average of 1.5 births per day
- Night shifts with 12-hour shift length and every other weekend required
- Floating required between L&D, postpartum, and mother/baby units as per policy
- Call required based on unit policy
- Uses Epic EMR, experience preferred
- Fetal monitoring is required using GE and OBIX systems
- Must titrate drips, including Pitocin
- Care setting is acute with a Trauma Level 3 designation
- Responsibilities include comprehensive care for laboring mothers, postpartum women, and newborns, as well as circulating in C-section OR cases
- RNs are required to independently manage fetal monitoring and titrate Pitocin drips
- Professional scrubs in any color are acceptable
- Week-long orientation provided, with 1-2 unit-based shifts included
- Charge nurse typically takes a patient assignment
- A surgical tech is present on the unit to assist with procedures
- OB/Neonatologist and Anesthesia services are not housed 24/7 but available as needed
- Holiday coverage is not required
- Travelers must secure housing within the float radius zone
- Active KS or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of recent LDRP or couplet care experience
- Current certifications in BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required
- Experience circulating in the OR for C-sections required
- Driver's license must be provided for verification
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility (radius rule applies)
- Two professional references required, including one supervisor from the last 12 months and another from within the last 3 years
