HCSS Shuttle Driver​/Courier Services; Part Time

Location: Galveston

To provide for the routine operation and minor maintenance of university vehicles in the transportation of materials or passengers.

• Deliver and/or retrieve materials as instructed.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of materials from vehicle.
• Maintain daily log of mileage, number of trips, passengers/cargo, destination, and fuel and oil consumptions.
• Inspect condition of assigned vehicle on a regular basis with regard to oil, fuel, tires and water.
• Report any needed adjustments or repairs to supervisors.
• Adhere to internal controls established for departments.

Part-time position – shifts can include a combination of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• This is a contract position through UTMB Healthcare Systems Staffing / HCSS (the in-house staffing agency for UTMB). No benefits are associated with this position, with the exception of the 401k retirement plan offered through HCSS.

One year related experience required. Completion of a defensive driver course within 30 days of hire. Must possess a current Texas Class “C” driver's license – with no driving restrictions, and a clean driving record.

Operation of vehicles, including trucks or vans.

Lift and move heavy objects. Drive vehicles under adverse weather conditions and have the ability to cope with emergency driving situations.
