Scope:
Vent duct insulation for mess and berthing spaces

• Travel Provided

• Laborers must be familiar with the duties of other craft workers and with the materials, tools, and machinery they use. All workers in a team must collaborate to carry out assigned construction tasks efficiently.
• Perform general clean‑up work such as:
  • Sweeping
  • Mopping
  • Repairing
  • Prepare and maintain a clean work area at production/construction sites.
• Before performing any hot work, inspect the area to ensure that all flammable and combustible materials have been removed.
• Deliver all safety equipment (including appropriate fire extinguisher) to the site.
• Stay stationed at the work site to respond quickly and prevent fires.
• Conduct frequent inspections of the hot work areas during hot work to ensure the area remains safe and working conditions are favorable.
• Assist fitters and welders with setting up equipment such as torch hoses, extension cords, and welding lines before hot work begins.
• Report fires and accidents to the officer of the deck and Firewatch Coordinator immediately.
• Remain in place for thirty minutes following work performed to clean the area and to ensure worksite conditions remain safe.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One or more years' experience in Industrial and/or marine industry preferred.

• Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/or rainy weather, combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
• Most construction laborers do physically demanding work. Some work at great heights or outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must wear hearing, eye, and other necessary protective equipment.
• Some climbing (100 feet) and lifting (50 lbs.) involved.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• High performance and a strong team player.
• Manual dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, good physical fitness, a good sense of balance, and an ability to work as a member of a team.
• Ability to carry out directives effectively, and on time.
• Having a desire to assist and clean up without the need for direction.
