DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service & Sales

* Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, friendly service.

* Assist customers by providing product suggestions, filling special orders, and offering food preparation ideas.

* Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer concerns and escalate to the Store Director when needed.

* Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques through telephone, in‑store intercom, and direct customer interaction.

Bakery Operations & Production

* Possess working knowledge of duties performed by all bakery team members.

* Assist with all department functions including preparation, baking, decorating, and displaying of products.

* Implement proper and efficient product preparation and packaging techniques.

* Maintain bakery case cleanliness, visual appeal, and appropriate inventory levels.

* Ensure proper cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of work areas, equipment, and the overall bakery department.

* Ensure required temperatures are maintained during all phases of product preparation, display, and storage.

* Build, stock, rotate, and discard outdated or spoiled products; keep work areas clean and organized.

* Follow all opening and closing procedures for the department.

Leadership, Training & Scheduling

* Assist with scheduling, supervising, and training bakery team members.

* Help assign duties and ensure adequate coverage to maintain service levels.

* Support planning of daily operations and monitor production processes following company procedures and profitability guidelines.

Inventory, Ordering & Documentation

* Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness; maintain inventory per division directives.

* Stock and rotate products; organize and maintain coolers according to guidelines.

* Assist with preparing sales and inventory reports.

* Assist with physical inventory conducted every 4 weeks.

* Ensure proper code dating and compliance for all products within the department.

* Perform receiving duties, including breaking down loads, verifying orders, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, and stocking and rotating product.

* Follow temperature, storage, and packaging guidelines.

* Complete administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records.

Compliance, Standards & Reporting

* Maintain and uphold department standards at all times.

* Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays.

* Accurately complete and monitor required documentation including daily log sheets, Production Charts, Sales and Labor reports, and other logs as required.

* Control shrink and cost through proper handling and procedures.

* Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook.

* Attend and participate in sales meetings as needed.
