JOB DESCRIPTIONConducts innovative scientific investigation by developing theories and devising scientific methods and procedures to apply scientific principles, theories and research in projects related to the mission of UTMB. Committed to the discovery of new innovative biomedical and health services knowledge leading to increasingly effective and accessible health care. Evaluates, selects, and applies standard scientific techniques and procedures while using judgment when necessary to adapt standard methods and techniques.
ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS
Research Scientists conduct innovative scientific investigation by developing theories and devising scientific methods and procedures to apply scientific principles, theories and research in projects related to the mission of UTMB. Duties include evaluating, selecting and using judgment when necessary to adapt advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices.
The successful applicant will perform imaging experiments as well as we will provide state of the art training for mass spectrometry and electrophysiology in BSL1 and BSL2 conditions. The applicant will help to train PhD and MS students and supervise the experiment execution on the daily basis as well as conduct experiments, analyze data, interpret results and write papers with minimal supervision.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
Ph. D, M.D, D.O., or D.V.M in related field and no experience required.
SALARYCommensurate with experience.
