Job Summary
The RN Transfer & Patient Placement Team Lead plays a key role in guiding the team to coordinate patient access and flow within all UTMB campuses. This position is responsible for assisting the manager and director in staff supervision, staff education, resolving issues and concerns, and ensuring patient-focused care through effective communication. This position helps coordinate interfacility transfers, optimize bed utilization, and ensure timely placement of patients in collaboration with physicians, nursing, and hospital leadership.
Acting as both a clinical resource and operational leader during assigned shifts, the Team Lead ensures safe, efficient, and patient-centered transfers while maintaining compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
- Minimum five (5) years of experience related to Patient Placement, Transfer Center, Critical Care, or Emergency/Trauma nursing.
- Leadership experience such as charge nurse, supervisor, and/or Team Leader.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution
- Three (3) years of experience in Patient Placement, Transfer Center, Critical Care, or Emergency/Trauma nursing.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with active licensure in the State of Texas (or compact license).
- Salary commensurate with experience
