Overview

A Banquet Server is responsible for delivering and serving food and beverage items to banquet guests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner in the continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service.

Responsibilities

• Assist and prepare in set up of the banquet area prior to guest arrival to ensure room design is executed correctly
• Maintain timeline of events to ensure seamless service
• Anticipate guests  service needs, including asking questions of guests to better understand their needs and watching/listening to guest preferences and acting on them whenever possible
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Follow all state and local laws for serving alcohol responsibly
• Maintain cleanliness and condition of stations, tables, and other tools, following all set-up guidelines

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills
• Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
• Must be available for various shifts including early morning, late nights, double shifts, occasional triple shifts, occasional split shifts, weekends, holidays, and long hours
• Understanding of basic room diagrams for station setups and seating charts for guests
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group environments to customers, clients, and or employees of organizations that we serve
• 1 year prior food service experience required, preferably in Banquets
