Position: Neurodiagnostic Tech I - EMG (24hrs per wk)(Part-time)

* Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneuro diagnostic (END) Program or equivalent experience. BLS

* * JOB DESCRIPTION
* To provide the basic technical skills necessary to perform one or more of the following electroneurodiagnostic procedures: electroencephalogram (EEG), intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM), long term monitoring (LTM), evoked potential (EP), and nerve conduction studies (NCV).

* ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

* * Performs electroneurodiagnostic studies according to written protocols.

* Explains procedures to patients and gathers medical history from patients and/or charts.

* Applies standard scalp electrodes using the 10/20 placement system.

* Adjusts test protocols based on patient history and study results, recognizing normal and abnormal variants.

* Identifies and corrects electrical and electronic malfunctions.

* Monitors and reviews raw study and video data during procedures.

* Prepares completed neurodiagnostic studies for interpretation.

* Completes the “Technician Impression” sheet, serving as a preliminary report.

* Edits and archives neurodiagnostic recordings.

* Competently performs routine inpatient and outpatient neurodiagnostic procedures.

* Sets up and assists with specialized neurodiagnostic procedures.

* Ensures patient safety, maintains privacy, and follows infection control protocols.
