Minimum Qualifications
- High school or equivalent. 2 years related experience.
To provide supervisory and advanced clerical skills in the performance of tasks that support business operations. The Clerk III in the UTMB TCCF is responsible for managing and executing a variety of critical tasks to support researchers on the UTMB Galveston campus. This includes processing service requests, ensuring accurate invoicing, and overseeing specialized services such as cryopreservation, cell culture quality control, and maintaining the facility’s inventory of reagents and supplies.
The role requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills to coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders, including UTMB PIs, students, postdoctoral fellows, lab personnel and vendor representatives. Additionally, the position involves maintaining accurate financial records and assisting the director make immediate scientific and long-term strategic decisions, using Peachtree accounting software to manage facility transactions, and ensuring the proper handling and storage of biological materials, including liquid nitrogen.
The Clerk III is also responsible for the training of other staff on accounting software and coordinating special orders to meet researchers’ needs. This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility, providing high-quality customer service, and supporting the success of
- Process and complete investigator service requests.
