Mental Health Clinician II Pediatrics Developmental Health and Pediatrics; Galveston

Required Education / Experience

Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work. Current licensure as a Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, or Clinical Social Worker with five (5) years experience as an LPA, LPC or LCSW.

This position is responsible for providing mental health evaluation and therapeutic intervention to patients. Works under the supervision of a Psychologist, Mental Health Manager, and/or Program Director.

• Contributes to the success of the UTMB Managed Care organization.
• Interviews, evaluates and diagnoses patients identified as having mental health needs.
• Provides individual and group psychotherapy and crisis intervention.
• Develops, implements and reviews Individual Treatment Plans.
• Assists with training and education of mental health, medical and other staff.
• Assists in the implementation of Quality Improvement/Quality Management (QI/QM) programs and the monitoring of compliance with required policies, procedures and standards.
• Provides routine consultation and communication with supervisor and/or attending psychiatric provider regarding the status of assigned patients.
• Completes clinically appropriate and timely documentation.
• Liaisons with patient, patient families, on-site departments and community agencies to coordinate treatment and/or facilitate aftercare services.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

• Performs related duties as required.

Actual salary commensurate with experience or range if discussed and approved by hiring authority.
