Job SummaryThe Galveston County Sheriff’s Office is seeking dedicated and reliable Deputies to join our Fugitive Apprehension Division. This position involves executing and enforcing criminal warrants, apprehending individuals with outstanding warrants for various offenses, and search warrants. The role requires travel across Texas and the United States to locate, apprehend, and extradite fugitives. A strong commitment to public safety, teamwork, and upholding the law is essential.
Responsibilities- Execute and enforce criminal warrants for both felony and misdemeanor offenses.
- Travel across Texas and the U.S. to locate, apprehend, and extradite wanted individuals.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports regarding criminal process actions, including warrant executions, arrests, and other related activities.
- Testify in Court when required regarding warrant executions.
- Provide support to patrol and investigate divisions in apprehension and enforcement efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is preferred.
- Licensure: Must be a licensed peace officer in the state of Texas.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of law enforcement or investigative experience is required. Tactical Experience is preferred
- Skills: Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in potentially stressful situations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Other Requirements: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must pass a comprehensive background check, physical fitness test, and drug screening.
