General Description
The purpose of this class is to ensure each detainee receives the opportunity for a fair and affordable bond amount. Once a personal bond is approved, appropriate documents are completed in a timely manner.
Duties and Responsibilities- Investigates and prepares bond documents.
- Interviews inmates during jail intake regarding the inmate’s finances.
- Reviews bond amounts set by courts using written guidelines.
- Investigates and interviews arrestees to determine if they qualify for pre‑trial release.
- Reviews, tracks and submits listings of all misdemeanor inmates who qualify for pre‑trial release but lack the ability to pay required fees.
- Responds to queries regarding release through the pre‑trial agency.
- Reviews all bonds posted by other investigators.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent. Requires six months of experience in social work, human resources, customer service or closely related experience.

Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken. The work is typically performed sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects.
