Assistant Controller

Harmer has been engaged by our client in their search for an Assistant Controller. This role is going to support a growing, multi-entity organization and partner closely with the Financial Controller.

• Company is in an aggressive growth phase, regularly bringing on new entities and expanding its footprint, which creates meaningful upward mobility.
• Accounting exposure spans multiple operating models, providing experience well beyond a single-industry environment.

• Manage and coordinate the close process, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is accurate
• Produce consolidated financial reporting and support leadership with actionable insights
• Prepare and review journal entries tied to payroll, cash activity, and intercompany transactions
• Perform account analysis and reconciliations, including bank activity and balance sheet reviews
• Provide oversight for payables and receivables, maintaining consistency and accuracy
• Support audit activity and documentation across multiple audit types
• Help formalize and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Partner with operational teams to ensure accounting practices are applied consistently
• Contribute to ERP implementations and system enhancements, including testing and training
• Assist with special projects, reporting requests, and financial analysis as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 8+ years of accounting experience
• Current supervisory experience is required
• Strong ERP system exposure
• Advanced Microsoft Excel

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Able to manage high-pressure environments and multiple deadlines.
