Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Galveston, Texas. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail, extensive experience in accounting processes, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

- Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect all financial transactions.

- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.

- Perform account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

- Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial records and bank statements.

- Oversee payroll processing using ADP, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.

- Review and enforce bank policies and procedures to maintain compliance.

- Support bank operations by monitoring financial activities and addressing issues.

- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize accounting workflows and improve efficiency. Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles with a focus on detail-oriented tasks.

- Proficiency in month-end closing procedures and general ledger management.

- Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation processes.

- Experience with bank reconciliations and financial accuracy checks.

- Familiarity with ADP payroll systems and related operations.

- Understanding of bank policies and operational practices.

- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently while meeting strict deadlines.
