Buyer
Full-Time | Operations / Business Support | Galveston, Texas Area
We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to support daily operations by procuring equipment, materials, and services. This role works closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely delivery, cost control, and minimal operational downtime. The Buyer reports to the Purchasing Manager and plays a key role in maintaining supply continuity for field and project operations.
Key Responsibilities- Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders for assigned equipment and projects
- Source suppliers, request quotes, and negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and service agreements
- Follow up on past‑due orders and expedite critical purchases
- Build and maintain vendor relationships to resolve pricing, delivery, and quality concerns
- Review requisitions for completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation
- Support urgent operational needs such as equipment breakdowns or repair shutdowns to minimize downtime
- Assign correct accounting codes to purchase orders
- Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal accounting teams
- Collaborate with internal departments to meet operational requirements
- Participate in safety and environmental compliance initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment Requirements
This role may require both office and field interaction. Employees must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Physical Activities- Walking, climbing stairs or ladders, and moving between work areas
- Standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and sitting for extended periods
- Repetitive movements of hands, arms, and back
- Lifting up to 30 lbs independently; up to 60 lbs with assistance
- Pushing or pulling up to 150 lbs when required
- Working in confined spaces and elevated areas
- Outdoor conditions including temperature changes, humidity, dust, and noise
- Exposure to industrial work environments and vibration
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hat, safety glasses, steel‑toe boots, hearing protection, and flotation devices where applicable
- Regular attendance and punctuality required
