Tramec Sloan is currently seeking an assembler/back‑up shipping clerk to join our manufacturing team in Galion, Ohio.

Shift: Monday–Thursday 6:00 am–4:30 pm (hours may vary).

• Perform a variety of highly repetitive hand operations to assemble components or units where procedures are clearly established, and tolerances are maintained.
• Perform mechanized assembly operations requiring the use of hand or power equipment.
• Perform final assembly and in‑process quality inspection of the end product.
• Demonstrate ability to operate any and all machines in the department at specified rates.
• Responsible for working in accordance with our documented Quality System and for ensuring that products and services meet the customer's specified requirements.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area using the 5S process and follow all safety policies and procedures.

• Assist with processing daily orders and inter‑company transfer orders.
• Monitor the shipping department's daily progress, and report issues to the production manager daily.
• Operate forklift to load and unload trucks, move pallets on and off racking, and wrap freight.
• Process orders using ERP/MRP system.
• Run the open orders report every afternoon to ensure all available parts are pulled for the day.
• Assist with performing material handler shipping functions, including order pulling, verification of orders, UPS station processing, weighing and wrapping pallets, stock transfer of finished goods, loading trucks, and RF scanner transactions as needed.
• Verify that all orders have been processed, printed and shipped, all ASN's have been sent and all shipments have packing lists attached.
• Ensure all daily UPS ground, and other carriers' packages are labeled and ready to ship.
• Responsible for working in accordance with our documented Quality System and for ensuring that products and services meet the customer's specified requirements.
• May be required to work different shifts, hours, overtime, and weekends if needed.

• High School diploma / GED or equivalent experience, and minimum of 1 year working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must have basic reading, math skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Experience with ERP, bar coding systems and wireless device strongly preferred.
• Ability to use scanner devices and computer literacy with MRP programs and reports required.
  
  Must be detail oriented and be able to work with numbers, including reading numbers, recording them correctly, and count large quantities accurately.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to effectively interact with all levels of staff.
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities is required.
• Must be attentive to detail, organized, results oriented, and have a high level of accuracy.
• Previous powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• May be required to obtain a license within 1-month of employment.
