Summary:
Perform mechanical repairs on commercial vehicles, using tools, knowledge, teamwork, training, and problem-solving skills. Present to the customer a professional self-image and company image through excellent service, safe operation, and timeliness. Maintain working area and equipment in compliance with Company guidelines. Perform necessary documentation accurately according to procedures in effect. Display competency, professionalism, dependability, safety, and quality assurance.
- Perform mechanical repairs on commercial vehicles.
- Maintain personal appearance and uniforms in compliance with established Company standards.
- Maintain work area and equipment in compliance with Company guidelines.
- Complete necessary documentation accurately and timely according to procedures in effect.
- Display competency, professionalism, dependability, safety, and quality assurance in daily work.
- Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues; respond to inquiries clearly and courteously.
- Adhere to safety procedures and use personal protective equipment as required.
- Using reason even when dealing with emotional topics or situations.
- Basic math and measurement skills; ability to interpret data and graphs as needed.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Willingness to make decisions; sound and accurate judgment; explain reasoning for decisions.
- Skills in engine codes and computer interfaces; basic computer skills.
- Aptitude for problem-solving; ability to diagnose and proactively solve repair-related issues.
- Understanding of mechanical devices.
- Ability to furnish own tools or sufficient tools to complete daily work.
- Approach others in a tactful manner; react well under pressure; treat others with respect regardless of status.
- Consistently provide quality customer service through professionalism, timely response, skill, and courtesy.
- Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and seek clarification; respond to questions.

- Attend employee meetings as requested for job and safety information.
- Observe safety and security procedures; report unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly.
- Conduct repairs in a manner that ensures safe functionality in accordance with operating instructions.
- Wear proper PPE and take all safety precautions in day-to-day operations.
- Utilize shop equipment and tools with safety in mind; report near misses or unsafe situations promptly.
- Perform repairs with awareness of surroundings; use appropriate safety practices and company procedures.
- Set and achieve challenging goals; pursue excellence; monitor own work to ensure quality.
- Use time efficiently; maintain accuracy and thoroughness; apply feedback to improve performance.
- Meet productivity standards; complete work in a timely manner; adapt to changes and unexpected events.
- Test drive repaired vehicles when requested to gauge performance and ensure complete service.
