Skillforce is seeking Electrician - Journeymen for an ongoing project in Gaithersburg, MD. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial settings. This position requires a deep understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and blueprints to ensure all work is performed accurately and safely. The journeyman electrician will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within budget.
Ultimately, the journeyman electrician ensures that all electrical installations meet quality standards and regulatory compliance, contributing to the overall success and safety of construction projects in Gaithersburg, MD.
Pay Rate: $32-$34 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an electrician in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes applicable to Waynesboro, VA.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
- Must have experience with pulling wire, running conduit and bending pipe.
- Own basic hand tools and PPE gear.
- Experience with both residential and commercial electrical systems.
- Certification in OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety training.
- Previous experience working on large-scale construction projects.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to install electrical wiring and equipment.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, and control systems in new and existing buildings.
- Conduct inspections and testing of electrical components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with construction teams and project managers to coordinate electrical work with other trades and meet project deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
- Use specialized tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete electrical tasks.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and less experienced electricians on the job site.
