Overview
The Parks Activation Team at Montgomery Parks is hiring a Site Coordinator to bring our events to life. This role will assist with special events and programs throughout the year, including Parks Summer Concert Series, Sligo Creek Fest, Parks Ale Trail, Shakespeare Beyond, Acoustics & Ales, and other community events at parks across Montgomery County. What You’ll Do- Provide leadership and supervision at events.
- Serve as the on-site representative for the Montgomery Parks Activation team for staff, vendors, and guests.
- Provide exemplary customer service by engaging with attendees and promptly addressing questions and concerns.
- Manage special event timelines and checklists at events.
- Monitor events on-site, including all activities, ensuring the safety and success of the event.
- Provide support to the Parks Activation Team.
- Perform related tasks as required.
- Shifts will be according to the event schedule throughout the year, and will include weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, and some holidays.
- 20-30 hours per week. Availability to work according to the event schedule, including weekday and weekend shifts.
We are searching for enthusiastic, reliable team players with event leadership experience who enjoy working outdoors. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in parks, recreation, or special events.
Minimum Qualifications- Must possess a valid Maryland driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand for at least two hours at a time.
- Walk at least a half mile up and down moderate hills without difficulty.
- Tolerance for working in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, humidity, and cold.
- Experience facilitating and leading special events and programs.
- Experience with special events equipment.
- Experience with and knowledge of coordinating special events.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Experience driving large vehicles (pick-up truck and/or box truck).
- Bilingual/Multilingual a plus.
- May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing.
- This position is part-time and not eligible for benefits.
- A background investigation will be completed prior to hire.
- Must possess a valid Maryland Driver’s License.
- This position is based out of Gaithersburg, MD and works at park locations throughout Montgomery County.
- Position pays at a rate of $22 to $25 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
