Job Summary:
The Inventory Control and Planning Specialist will be responsible for managing and optimizing inventory levels to ensure efficient production and timely delivery of products. This role involves medium to long-range inventory planning, organizing S&OP processes and meetings, and working closely with the Director of Production Planning, Director of Procurement, and Manufacturing Manager to align inventory strategies with production schedules and procurement activities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, supply chain optimization, and data analysis.
- Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Monitor inventory levels and perform regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Collaborate with the Director of Production Planning to forecast inventory needs based on production schedules and customer demand.
- Work with the Director of Procurement to coordinate purchasing activities and manage vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain inventory reports and dashboards to provide visibility into inventory status and performance.
- Implement and manage inventory management systems and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead initiatives to reduce excess and obsolete inventory and improve inventory turnover rates.
- Coordinate with the Manufacturing Manager to ensure inventory availability aligns with production requirements.
- Organize and lead S&OP processes and meetings to align sales, operations, and inventory strategies.
- Support the development and execution of inventory strategies to meet business goals and customer expectations.
- Provide training and support to team members on inventory management best practices and systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience in inventory management, supply chain, or related roles.
- Experience with ERP systems and data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
