This is a full-time opportunity to support a critical modernization project that replaces a legacy application (Pro
* C, Oracle) with a modern, scalable solution using Java Spring Boot microservices, Oracle Exadata, and Open Shift. The ideal candidate will have a strong Agile background and a passion for improving team performance, efficiency, and delivery quality.

• Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Coach teams and the organization on Agile and Scrum principles, practices, and values.

• Identify and remove impediments, or guide the team in resolving blockers by engaging the right stakeholders.

• Create a trusting and psychologically safe environment where issues can be raised openly without fear of blame.

• Enable teams to deliver work effectively without coercion, assigning, or dictating tasks.

• Facilitate discussions, decision-making, and conflict resolution.

• Improve communication and transparency across teams and stakeholders.

• Support and educate the Product Owner, particularly in backlog refinement and prioritization.

• Practice servant leadership by empowering the team and leading by example.

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business processes and requirements as user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with technical leads to decompose epics and features into well-defined user stories with acceptance criteria.

The responsibilities and duties outlined above describe the general nature and level of work performed in this role. They are not exhaustive and may change based on organizational needs.

• Active Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (MBI Letter preferred).

• 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in a software development environment, preferably in legacy modernization projects involving Java, Oracle, and/or APIs.

• Strong understanding of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment, and transparency.

• Hands-on knowledge of Agile practices and techniques beyond Scrum, such as different burndown methods, retrospective formats, and defect-handling approaches.

• Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.

• Scrum Master certification such as CSM or PSM I (strongly preferred).

• Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) (strongly preferred).

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

$100,000 – $125,000 annually
