Overview

FY26:
Speech Pathologist, PEP/Pre-K, Washington Grove ES, 0.2 FTE at Montgomery County Public Schools. This role involves screening, evaluating and providing appropriate services to students with communication disorders (articulation, voice, language, fluency) that affect educational performance. Also includes consultation with teachers and parents and participation in Individualized Education Program (IEP) team meetings. Physical Demands: as required by the duties and responsibilities of the job.

Special Requirements: attend school meetings, programs and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the MCEA agreement.

• Screen, evaluate, and provide appropriate services for students with communication disorders (articulation, voice, language, fluency) affecting educational performance.
• Consult with teachers and parents and participate in IEP team meetings.
• Develop and implement goals and objectives for each student and select and utilize therapeutic materials for individuals and small groups.
• Maintain complete longitudinal records and formulate concise clinical reports, IEPs and IFSPs as appropriate.

• Master's degree or equivalent in speech-language pathology; relevant coursework and demonstrated expertise in evaluation and therapeutic techniques for communication disorders; experience collaborating with related professionals and working with parents.
• Ability to screen, diagnose, and remediate communication disorders from birth to age 21; ability to work with students individually and in small groups; strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.
• Licensure:
  Maryland state license (DHMH) or eligibility for provisional license for hires after Oct 1, 2007; MSDE certification or DHMH license may apply for earlier hires; ASHA CCC desirable or CFY-eligible.
