Physical Therapists/Occupational Therapists – New Grads and Level I, II, and III’s A $5K sign-on bonus is available!In this role, you will be responsible for the physical therapy/occupational management of patients under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy Supervisor.
PHYSICAL THERAPISTEssential Functions:
- Assumes all responsibilities as outlined in Physical Therapist II job description.
- Provides consultation and mentoring to the physical therapy staff in their specific area of specialization.
- Provides education to physical therapists through formal and informal education in their specific specialty both locally and regionally.
- Assists in the development and implementation of new clinical practice models for the delivery of care to members who require their expertise.
- For their area of specialty, acts as a consultant to staff members for the management of patients and is a resource for on‑going, professional development of the staff in their specialty. Assesses staff competencies, clinical judgment, education, and training needs in their specialty. Provides direct patient care, especially for patients with complex problems related to their specialty.
- Provides competent patient care at a senior level as defined below. Senior therapists provide leadership to the department, supervise PTA's students and support staff. Provides a leadership role to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of physical therapy services.
- Provides clinical direction to staff in our role as senior staff.
- Assumes responsibility for the management of high volume of patients, including those with complex problems or special needs in their area of specialty.
- Provides assistance to Supervisor as needed and covers for Supervisor when out of the office.
- Provides coverage as needed in other facilities within the service area if appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Tests and evaluates the extent of a patient's disability to ensure proper treatment using various tests and procedures.
- Plans therapy program, establishes treatment goals; and administers treatment to restore body functions, strength, relieve pain, and prevent disability through the use of various therapeutic techniques and procedures. This includes patients in establishing goals and obtains patient's informed consent as necessary. Provides patients and family members with treatment plan and instructions for home exercise programs and pain relief techniques.
- Upgrades treatment plan and goals as patient progresses.
- Regularly assesses clinical signs and symptoms to determine effectiveness of treatment, progress of patient towards goals, and the need for modifying goals and treatment.
- Discharges patient from occupational therapy when the patient has received maximum benefit from occupational therapy.
- Provides accurate and timely documentation of Occupational therapy management and patient management.
- Maintains appropriate medical records, documentation for each patient including evaluation, treatment and progress.
