About the OpportunityA well‑established, multi‑entity organization in Montgomery County is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead and transform its high‑volume A/P function.
This is a strategic leadership opportunity; the company is modernizing its Procure‑to‑Pay process and moving toward a more automated and streamlined environment. They are looking for someone who has successfully led AP teams and driven automation or system implementations in a high‑volume setting. This role oversees 6,500+ invoices per month across 50+ branches and manages a team of 4–5 A/P Specialists.
WhatYou’ll Be Responsible For
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of AP Specialists
- Drive accountability, accuracy, and KPI performance
- Conduct performance reviews and promote operational excellence
- Oversee processing of 6,500+ invoices monthly
- Manage vendor master data and internal controls
- Monitor AP aging and vendor reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate payments
- Handle escalations and root‑cause issue resolution
- Own AP month‑end close
- Reconcile AP subledger to GL
- Manage reporting and KPI tracking
- Identify inefficiencies and implement streamlined workflows
- Lead or support AP automation initiatives
- Play a key role in system modernization efforts (ERP transition in progress)
- 6+ years of Accounts Payable leadership experience
- Experience managing high‑volume AP (5,000+ invoices monthly)
- Proven AP system implementation or automation experience
- Strong team leadership and communication skills
- Experience managing AP GL and reporting
- Experience in multi‑entity environments
- Background in large or fast‑paced organizations
- ERP experience (JD Edwards or similar is a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (strongly preferred)
